Review:

Who doesn’t love a Hollywood romance? I mean, I don’t mind them… especially when the Hollywood character is relatable and not too much of a douche *winky face emoji*

I enjoyed this book in the sense that even though the two MCs aren’t together in the beginning due to a miscommunication, you can feel the emotions as to what went wrong and why. There’s a push and pull against what feels right and what they should do right. I did enjoy that Mae was successful in her own right, not a damsel in distress. Some things are always meant to be, and then there’s these two… with a twist and a turn the author kept me interested until the end.


A definite recommended Read.

Wesley got a good look. Justin. The man’s clothes were stained, his hair greasy. His sunken eyes were threaded with scarlet so densely they appeared pink.
“Look who’s here. The witch.” Justin said.
Darla didn’t move. She didn’t flinch.
Curses fell from Wesley’s lips as he raced forward.
“Come on. Leave her alone.” Justin’s friend pulled on his arm, but Justin wiggled out of his hold.
“Are you afraid of a little spell? I tell you all we need is a bit of her blood, dab it around the boat, and we’ll be protected. You can’t back down now. You hold her. Justin took out his knife and waved it at her.
“As above so below. As within so without,” Darla chanted her hands raised and fingers stretched toward them. “Let me see, how to finish the curse. I can make you into toads. No, that won’t do. You’d give the little creatures a bad name. Something more particular to you.”
The two men grew paler by the minute.

When tragedy strikes one of her patients, it’s up to Clara to step in and make sure her 4 year- old son is taken care of. Enter the unsuspecting dad, Nik! Clara and Nik have lovely chemistry that I enjoyed reading about. It wasn’t forced chemistry and you could tell that in the beginning she was genuinely disgusted by his playboy ways.

The book is a quick paced read and would be perfect to sit down on a rainy afternoon and power through. It ends in an abrupt kind of way, but it’s not too awkward and the inclusion of an epilogue promises the characters will pop up in future books.

Did I mention the main character plays the Cello, which makes me think he’s pretty good with his fingers and hands!!!

The books are based around the Savani brothers, a group of successful Indian hotties (my word 😉 ) who have made it in their own various ways. Nik is a successful businessman for a software company and Clara is an oncologist. The mixture of successful characters means they can both hold their own. There is definitely an equal dynamic with these two characters. I liked that this wasn’t about some surprising baby per se, and wasn’t an unrealistic type of event that might happen. A sprinkle of sizzle towards the end, and a lovely story overall makes this a nice quick read.

It’s official! Jodi Ellen Malpas is fast becoming a Top 10 favourite author for me! Her book “The Protector” is being made into a movie by PassionFlix which prompted me to read it. It was awesome. Full of action, adventure, love, and all the things I love in a book. I moved onto “The Controversial Princess” and “His True Queen” and devoured them!! I should have been studying, but I was enamoured with these books. I couldn’t put them down (maybe I’ll get some sleep again!). Her writing is easy to read and hooks you in and her characters create a world of intrigue and wonder. Two big thumbs up, if you’re looking for a book with just the right amount of hotness and a well-developed storyline!
I purchased the books on iBooks because they had some bonus features. You can get them on Amazon and all good retailers.

Wow! Who knew jumping from planes was so exhilarating?? Jennifer Ryder, obviously, duh!!! This book has everything I love about a romance novel. There is pace, humour, wit, complications, resolutions, laugh out loud, tear up complications, resolutions, and love. Ryder has performed this formula with the expertise of a tandem skydiver on his 800th jump.    giphy

Tandem is a story of second chances. It is told in a THEN/NOW format which helps with the story flow. There was never a moment where I was annoyed at the jump backs in time, in fact I anticipated what the next one would hold. My heart broke and healed whilst reading this story. It was such an easy read, and I am so in love with the way Ryder pens words. You’ll fall *out of a perfectly good plane* for this story.

In order to get more blog posts up and not get bogged down into the need for lengthy posts, I thought I would start some quick flash reviews. Hopefully they have enough in them to get you interested in clicking on the book and seeing if it’s something you’d like.

Great suspense/action with a sprinkle of romance –no BDSM in sight   Definitely don’t miss this book. It was my first Caitlyn O’Leary book and I really enjoyed the flow of the words, and the easy chemistry between all of the characters. There was action, and suspense, and it was always moving forward. Grab this – it’s FREE!

When in Rome by CJ Duggan Author This was also a great, fast paced story of everything going wrong, but right! Another one with a light sprinkling of romance, reminded me of the time I explored Rome – except I didn’t get a hunky Italian! This was a super easy read and I knocked it out in a couple of hours! I really enjoyed the way the city was lightly interwoven into the storyline.

Happy Release Day!!

I went into this book blind. I had not read any other book in the series (the first one), and I had not read Riley Edwards before. I was pleasantly surprised with the package that was the book, Freeing Jasper. The story is a lot more than a love story. The author has done well in integrating the world of mystery, action and black ops. Jasper’s character is damaged from decisions he made early on in life, and he uses women as a bandaid. Enter – Emily. Someone he’s met before but refused to listen to his heart. He’s avoided her for months until she becomes a victim of a bank robbery. Jasper acts on instinct and Emily will soon becomesomeone who will slide into his heart and break it open. There was a lot more involved in the story, and I don’t want to give anything away. One of the things I enjoyed the most was it wasn’t all about the sex in this book. It was about the story. It was about breaking and freeing Jasper so he could be the person he was meant to be. Looking forward to reading more in the series, now I’ve gotten to know the secondary characters. Read this book if you like your romances with just a hint of heat, but a lot of action.

The history of the world, past, present, and future, resides in the pages of a single book. It is handed to the next Keeper every thirty years on Mardi Gras Day. The book only remains constant for the chosen. For anyone else, their world will change if they touch it.

Author Bio:
A lifelong lover of words and reading, Savannah Verte hasn’t quite figured out what she wants to write when she grows up. Born and raised in the upper Midwest, Savannah’s gypsy spirit and never quit attitude keep her busy and seldom idle. For so many reasons, Savannah considers herself a ‘Contemporary Vagabond’ when it comes to writing and hopes that others find her diverse offerings as enjoyable to read as they are to write.

 

As the primary owner and driving force behind Eclectic Bard Books she considers herself immensely fortunate to see writing from varied perspectives as she endeavors to publish the authors rostered there. Working with other writers, Savannah gets to expand her horizons every day as someone brings a new idea to the table and the brainstorming begins. There is something addictive about the creative process for her and helping other authors embrace their dreams make hers a reality daily.

 

That’s the official Savannah, the unofficial version is just a girl who loves experiencing life with every twist and turn it takes. When she was born, she had such fine, light hair that her mother used to tape bows to her head so people would know she was a girl. She’s had a host of crazy unrelated jobs- everything from cake decorator, dry cleaner, and insurance agent to Emergency Room assistant, bartender, crime lab tech and bouncer. Savannah loves air hockey but completely sucks at it. She loves good jazz, good scotch, and antiques but also old rock, a quiet tea, and a tidy home. She’s completely technology impaired and can get it after she’s broken the computer or done it ass-backwards a few times… Thank Gods that there are some amazing meme creators that let her pilfer images or she’d be lost. Lime green is her color, the rhinoceros is her logo & philosophy, and she’s completely mad about seeing new authors try.
